About Wind Energy
According to Lazard’s Levelized Cost of Energy Analysis, wind energy is reliable, abundant and affordable. In fact, wind energy was the lowest cost new energy resource in 2021 and offers a natural hedge against volatile fuel prices. |
According to the American Clean Power Association, Wind is America’s largest source of renewable energy. In 2020, the U.S. wind industry supported nearly 117,000 jobs across all 50 states. Wind energy provides a quarter of the electricity produced in eight states (over 60% in Iowa) and continues to grow. Wind energy avoided 319 million metric tons of CO2 emissions in 2020.
American wind power saves consumers money. Adding wind energy to the generation mix reduces electricity prices, helps protect against future price shocks, and makes the energy market more competitive. According to the American Clean Power Association, the cost to generate power from wind has declined by 65% over the last decade, with improved technology and U.S.-based manufacturing making it competitive with other energy sources and the cheapest source of new electricity in many parts of the country.
We work with appropriate staff at the local, state and federal levels ensuring regulations are followed during all phases of the project.
